Format conversion is useless if it loses your data. This update focuses on fidelity.
What's preserved now
- Animations — animated models stay animated after conversion
- STEP/IGES face colors — your CAD files keep their per-face coloring
- Vertex colors — models with embedded color data (VTK, XYZ) retain their colors
- Rhinoceros 3DM colors — object colors carry through to the converted file
- Material properties — diffuse and emissive colors are preserved across FBX, 3DS, DirectX, and other formats
The goal is simple: your converted file should look just like the original.
